Always loved this song. My favorite Nirvana song as well. And I'm not the biggest Nirvana fan... I was an Alice In Chains guy in the 90's and this spoke to me on that level.
I think AiC got a little less critical respect because they were perceived as more metal, and arguably their output overall could be uneven; however, DIRT is the best of all the Seattle big 4's albums, and probably my favorite rock record of all time. Seen them live twice, both after Layne died, and they hold up well.
I have a modified version of the inner sleeve of Dirt tattooed on my left shoulder... The first time I saw AiC was pre-grunge era 1989. They opened for Van Halen at Madison Square Garden. I was sitting 5th row and never heard of them before. My head exploded and I was all in until Layne died. The band died with him, except Jerry hasn't figured that out yet...
I was hugely upset that his death was barely acknowledged. Layne is hardly remembered by those who weren't there relative to Kurt and Chris.
I really want to see a movie about nirvana/pearljam.aic/soundgarden from rise to fall, even if it's heavily fictionalized. Not sure I could do it justice
Love this! (I shared it to my Rock & Roll Nightmares Facebook group)

I can't agree. Both shows I saw with DuVall were outstanding. They'll never make new stuff on the same level, but they've still got it.
Fair enough. Layne was just such a monumental, enigmatic force. I never recovered.
