Biker Mice From Mars Get Super-Limited Comic-Con Exclusives
You may need some throttle of your own to grab these in the con floor
Thanks to our friends at Nacelle for this heads-up: Biker Mice From Mars will be represented at San Diego Comic-Con with some exclusive figures, and they’re gonna be tough to get in a timely fashion.
Let’s look at what they are first. The main exclusive is an action figure three-pack of the primary mice: Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie. They look like the same figures previously released individually, but in a new box with comic artwork on the back of the box, and an SDCC logo on the front.
The other one is an “art figure” — an un-articulated, hand-painted figurine of Throttle dressed for a generic “Fans Con,” in a hot-dog costume with admission badge. This is similar to many custom art figures typically found at cons, but official, and he comes carded.
Both exclusives are $100 each. Sound like a lot? Well, trust that they’ll go up a lot more later. The three-figure set is limited to 500 pieces, and the art figure limited to 100. What that means is if you have the slightest inkling that you want one, head directly to the Nacelle booth as soon as they open. That’ll be #2547. In the past, Nacelle was based at the Diamond booth, but this year, Diamond is no more.
I can say from experience that SOTA Toys once had an exclusive Lara Croft action figure limited to a run of 50 — I went straight to the booth when the doors opened and they were already sold out. And this was in the days before the Con had expanded into Hall H, so make of that what you will.
With each purchase, fans will also get a limited edition magnet set as a bonus. These are also limited, though it’s not clear what the run number will be exactly. They’re listed as being a bonus for every purchase over $5, which suggests that Nacelle will also have other product for sale that’s less than $100 per item. We’ll have to wait and see on that.
If you want them, I wish you the best of luck. Just do your fellow con-going friends a favor and don’t ask them to “pick me up a set.” That’s just rarely ever possible as a casual thing. But if your friend will do that for you, maybe marry them. They’re dedicated to you.
